Assume that the covered distance is x km.

x/10 - x/15 = 2

3x - 2x = 60

x = 60 km.

Taken time to travel 60 km with 10 km/hr

= 60/10 = 6 hrs.

Man started 6 hours before 2 p.m at 8 a.m

So required speed = 60/5 = 12 km/hr.
